About Me

Hello treasure seekers, my name is Ilaura, thank you for digging around my site! If you’ve read this far, you are probably wondering who I am and the story behind my jewelry. Well, Eureka!

I grew up prospecting for gold on family claims in my hometown of Fairbanks, Alaska where I started a business with my sister, Jordan, called Gold Daughters in 2014. My childhood hobby has been the inspiration for many aspects of my life, from work to play, and all things in between. If I am not prospecting for gold or hunting fossils during the summer months, I am combing for sharks teeth or designing jewelry with my finds in the winter.

My summer is spent working long hours in the tourism industry where I meet people from all over the world every single day! I love being able to showcase my wonderful hometown and why Fairbanks is a hidden gem.

During my off season I pursue my creative outlets and find I can spend hours working on one piece of jewelry totally content to myself. I value this change of pace and creative freedom.

I utilize resources I find myself in Alaska for all of my pieces, including woolly mammoth tusk and natural gold nuggets. There is nothing more special than holding a piece of our Earth’s history in my hand and bringing life back to an animal that has been extinct for thousands of years through my designs.

Do not underestimate the power of making a discovery.
